POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

Smoke patches from the fire where it was trying to suck in oxygen through the panel seams. Waiting on the work crew to fix that part of the insulation they installed that has come down.
Was wondering if it might be mold from water damage.
I'm super sensitive to molds, so it makes me jump to see anything dark on a wall!

A few days ago, I bought a 304 stainless drop from a seller on ebay... it is 11" diameter and 3/8" thick...

I drilled and tapped eight holes in it...

And bolted it to a cast iron pedestal...

I can move it anywhere I need it, even outside the shop.

Had one of those cheaper Wilton 5" vises in my shop in Puerto Rico. Was a little leery initially, but it held up very well. Nice job on the base. Mike

My neighbour restored an old Willys Jeep, maybe 1948 I think. He found an old shifter knob at the local junk yard. I made an adapter to screw into the knob and to fit his thread on the Jeep. 3/4”-16 to 5/16” -18. Then polished it with some jewellers rouge. Came out great. Forgot to take a picture though.
He then asked if I could make two more for the auxiliary and parking brake.
Made a prototype tonight. I only had some 1” aluminum to practice . I need to find some 1-1/4” stainless for the real ones.
Made one on my horizontal boring mill and rotary table. I mounted the rotary table on a 18 degree set up block I have.
It is very hard to crank the rotary table and the infeed table on the mill at the same time. Lol. Boy are my arms tired. I had to polish it with a file in the lathe and on the grinder with some rouge.I’ll try a stainless one maybe this weekend.

Nice. Can you drive the rotary with a socket on a cordless drill?

Thanks
Yes, i can. I need to turn the rotary table around. Also will need to raise it on blocks because the handle interferes withe mill table, because it will be on the low side then. I also need to speed up the mill as it leaves stiration marks . I was only running it at 240 rpm as I wasn’t sure how it would react with the rotation.
