Thanks John. Different setup than mine. What I need is a clear photo. I generally take pics when I disassemble things, but haven't found any. Have looked near and far on the web finding a few tantalizingly close but no cigar. May end up reverse engineering, and making some hardware to get where I need to be. Mike
I worked on upping my grind game. I figured out how to grind the EM gash cuts at a 30 degree lead on the Shekel today, which is an improvement over a perpendicular lead.
I cheat and weld a scrap socket on to get an internal square. If I want it to look nice, I counterbore the part and cut away the socket to leave a disc containing the square hole, beveled to contain the fillet of the weld. I prefer to use Chromium Molybdenum impact sockets for this, as the weld holds up better than Vanadium alloy material.
Had to clean up behind my walk in door. Couldn’t open more than halfway due to shafting falling over. Most came out of commercial or hospital treadmills. Some regular. All hard. Smallest.500 largest 1.400. Octagon barrel is 44” long. 1.500 across flats. Still a mess.
