No insulation?
Energy is so expensive we insulate the heck out of our homes. It’s in the building codes.
My house was built in the 90s. In the recession, then no one had the money or the materials for insulating a house, newer houses are insulated and have much better materials. Old one's like my are build with concrete, brick and mortar.

that's what I love about my 148 year old house. Super heavy construction with mortise and tenon joints!
Modern isn't bad tho. The monthly energy bill in our new house is 2/3 the cost of the previous old house. And the new house has x4 the square footage! If my math is right that's 6x better efficiency per sq ft.

Granted, I do like some of the old methods and materials. But the utility and efficiency of the new stuff appeals to me too! We know a couple who bought an older log cabin. About as old a technology as you can get, but I'd never have it based on the energy bills they told us about!

Well, houses here are all made from concrete and bricks. I had a drunk lady crash in my house couple years back, took a 50t crane to remove her suv from my yard. No damage on the house i only replace one rain gutter, the lady spent a week in hospital and couple months recovering. Drinking and driving is a very bad combination.

Bit by bit.
lot of time looking and wondering what the sequence is for taking things apart.
Cross slide engagement gear was low hanging fruit and I did fish the spring out of the hole for the bearing.

Thinking I can get the half nut assembly off next. Couple of collars with setscrews and slide the shaft out maybe. Will see this afternoon

Been working on mowers the last few days. Rebuilt the blade arbors on this Crapsman ZTS 7500 44" zero turn last winter, and having a hard time figuring out the belt arrangement from the clutch pulley to the deck drive. Wondering if anyone here has one and if you could take a few pics to clear things up for my befuddled old brain. Posted it here as I figured more folks would see it. Thanks, Mike
