PM-1440GT Motor

Motor on mine shook and vibrated from day 1 (same 1440gt). Made the whole lathe vibrate. I took it off and ran it by itself and it was definitely the motor. They replaced mine with the Baldor as well and the whole lathe is exceptional now. Like 10/10 exceptional. Zero regrets ponying up for the Taiwanese machine after motor was replaced.
The original motor is very loud and vibrated after 1 month it went to south. The new motor sounds much better and it is running very smooth.

omg... this is my luck one thing right after another. After replaced motor lathe is run fine until now. After couple hours that I am working on it I started hear sounds is very strange from the chuck. I shut it off then turn it back on it's sounds very rough from the chuck that I never hear it before. Lathe is sounds like a train very loud and rough which I have no idea what is going on now.
I am going to call PM tomorrow for help. This is become very frustrated all money that I have savings to buy this lathe.

When motor was down, I drained all oils for the first time. I probably didn't run long for all gears after filled oil. I shut the machine down inspected that I realized oil was way low. I filled about 12oz then the noise went away. I hope that was it.
