Needed: cross-feed miter gear for Atlas 10" lathe

Does anyone know if the Atlas 10F ever had a slip clutch somewhere or especially for the cross feed slide?

My mount, for the mitre gear, was broken and I found the assembly on ebay with the spine gone. ($29) But fortunately my mitre gear spline is good and all I wanted was the mount. It's crazy money what eBayers want for a good assembly!

Thanks. Very helpful. Will check that bearing as well.
Yup that happened to me also. When it crashed the mitre gear striped inside and cracked and broke off the whole mount. Got lucky and found another whole assembly. Make sure to see if you need shims behind the mitre gear mount for mesh clearance. Don't want any binding between the two gears or it will happen again. I made my own with shim stock and trimmed off the top so oil can flow to it. (Not shown)

Suggest you use a wire wheel on all three of those gears to clean any crud collected there. Don't lose the ball and spring at apron top side.

Mine is also missing the keyway on the piece that rides thru the leadscrew. So...I made a new one. Took a couple tries as I eventually figured out the printer was .01" smaller in diameter than the CAD output.

Would you share the step or stl please?

BE REAL INTERESTING TO SEE HOW IT HOLDS UP AFTER A WHILE.
