My 70 Nova project (Formerly looking at this mustang)

I'm not going to be pounding on it, so hopefully if the case breaks it won't cause a lot of damage. It's far better than the 10 bolt that came with it.

Shouldn't need shims, I just pulled the open carrier out and replaced it with the trac lock.

The astro van that the hydroboost came out of had drum rear drum brakes unfortunately, so have to change the master and prop valve.

When (and if) I ever get the car back I can start putting parts on it. I'm running out of things to do without the car being here. All I have left is to put the intake on the engine, clean and paint the trans, do a little more on the rear axle. Had to make a seal driver to put the axle seals in. My cheap HF seal driver wouldn't work with a recessed seal.

If your sure you won't be pounding on it  :). Whatever the width of the ring gear is, is how far the drive shaft will try to go up the butt of the transmission. You got this....

Well I know who to talk to if the Richmond comes apart in the 67 Deuce.

The Deuce has a sintered iron adjustable clutch. The Richmond was in this car first@ 4000 lbs 3rd gear is first to go out.

If the trans will hold the chevelle like that you would be hard pressed to blow it up on the street.

But, anything can be done if you work hard enough at it.

Haven't worked with a richmond trans yet. I usually work with T56's, T5's, 4L60E's, and 4l80E's. I build the T56 and T5's to sell when I find them for a good price, and do cable drive speedometer conversions on all of them.

I was playing with the hydro boost and see a universal mounting bracket on ebay for them. I'd like to make my own plate, but without a car to fit it up to can't do much. I'm going to have to light a fire under the guy. 6 weeks is long enough to have the floors welded in.

Waiting for someone is very difficult.

I wouldn't use the word fire with the guy who is welding on my car, but frequent visits on the progress often gets the point thru. About splitting diff housing, i won't worry about it, yes i've broken few diffs in my younger years but i've done it doing stuff that never should be done, one advice i've heard and can give, take it easy first 500-1500 km and do an oil change, then you can see the progress is there any metal and you can start to " pounding on it".

I'm not going to fire the guy, but yes I will drop by because I was in the area (same state) and see how it's going. We drove by yesterday and the car is inside. He has other cars sitting outside. He si a nice guy, but he is obviously taking advantage of my good nature.

Unfortunately there isn't a drain plug in the housing.
