Milling on a Lathe?

Thanks for the heads up on the Logan auction, I will look at it as soon as I get somewhere w/ access to the auction. I origanally was looking at some of the 3in1 machines, but they seem to be short in one aspect or another. My budget, as approved by the big boss, seems to fluctuate some week to week but I think I can get a lathe in the 9x20 to 12x28 range and a mill 6/8x26/30ish as long as the parts are not too heavy. So my plan is to get a lathe first, some tooling, do a few of my projects and then get a mill. The only two distant future projects that I can think of that would tax the mill on the lathe are a double barrel shotgun/rifle action and a medium format camera body. I am not sure I will ever do ether of these, but his is the largest I can think of, so far :) After all the excellent info I have received here, the mill might not even be a necessity but would make life easier. I am still struggling with the new vs used as I am concerned about the ways & would like to just be able to use the machine with out much refurb. And yes, this part of the country seems to have lots of used lathes, less so on mills smaller than a Bridgeport. Thanks, Jim.
