I would consider setting that puppy down on a pallet jack in the trailer, oriented in the most useful way possible for your unloading scenario. Crib the pallet jack in with blocks for travel. Even if the ramp is junk and the landing uneven, you can pull that pallet jack off the trailer bed and ramp even if you have to drag it over the apex like a skid. The wheels will eventually take over and you can maneuver it where you want it.
For securing while driving, the DOT minimum is 2 straps for the first 10 feet of load, 1 strap after, pulled in a V. I always use just two ratchet straps or binder chains. Size the tackle for the load, no need to tie it up with a mile of rope like the beverly hilbillies. Of course this applies to the bulk of the load, if you need to hold parts of the machine together, hold doors shut, and brace protective dunnage, then do it.
