K.O. Lee Tool and Cutter Grinder. What can one do with it.

Tomorrow (4/24/23) is the day I have to pick this machine up. I am planning on renting an open Uhaul trailer for the move. I really would have preferred to use my nice enclosed trailer, but that trailer is all aluminum, including the ramp, which leaves serious doubt about getting that machine into the trailer without bending the ramp. The last thing I would want to happen is permanently deforming the ramp.

With that being said, any suggestions on how to secure/remove the bed on this T&CG? I am assuming the bed lifts off, but...? If I don't take the bed off, what is the best method of transport with the bed on, or is that plain "no way?"

You need to take the table off. I think they just lift off. A guy i know bought one of these a few years ago and dumped it. He's a very good rigger but got this one wrong, they're very top heavy.
PM me if you want his contact info. He may he able to give you some tips.

I would consider setting that puppy down on a pallet jack in the trailer, oriented in the most useful way possible for your unloading scenario. Crib the pallet jack in with blocks for travel. Even if the ramp is junk and the landing uneven, you can pull that pallet jack off the trailer bed and ramp even if you have to drag it over the apex like a skid. The wheels will eventually take over and you can maneuver it where you want it.

For securing while driving, the DOT minimum is 2 straps for the first 10 feet of load, 1 strap after, pulled in a V. I always use just two ratchet straps or binder chains. Size the tackle for the load, no need to tie it up with a mile of rope like the beverly hilbillies. Of course this applies to the bulk of the load, if you need to hold parts of the machine together, hold doors shut, and brace protective dunnage, then do it.

At this point, I have a very heavy-duty pallet constructed out of 4x4's and 2x6's. I am hoping that once it is on the pallet, I can run some bolts through where the leveling feet are. I have a smaller (standard) pallet for the Donaldson dust collection system, which only ways 300-ish pounds. I have four large (4000lb I think) ratchet straps and numerous smaller ones that I am taking along.
I have successfully moved my large Sharp mill and my Bridgeport surface grinder, so I am hoping this one will go smoothly. I just found a parts diagram for this machine which I am going to review tonight to see how this bed comes off.
Thanks for the help, guys.
