As the title says, what can one all do with said tool and cutter grinder? Can one sharpen drill bits on it for example? How about the side flutes on an end mill? Or, the end (center) of an end mill? How about carbide woodworking saw blades?

I am bidding on this one, more as a placeholder than anything else. I do have a surface grinder also and have plans for building an Acto Tool and Cutter grinder.

What say the experts? Are the K.O. Lee T&C grinders worthwhile? What should one expect to pay?

Lots of questions, I know...

For a bare machine, I'd expect that to fetch $2000, but with all that tooling you can double it. In a hot market, I bet that would go for closer to $6k.

The answer to your questions is yes. The work heads included will cover all aspects of end mills. Jigging arbors for sharpening blades is base childsplay for a tool grinder. Saw blades are self-indexing, so all you need is an arbor to mount the blade and a primitive mechanical stop to index a tooth. Crank the head and work where they need to be, and go to town on every other tooth, then reverse the setup for the opposing raked teeth.

I can't see all of the goodies in the pictures, but if the price was right, I'd be renting a flatbed right now. Most T&C setups I see in local auctions and listings are stripped bare. Without tooling, the machine is useless, and it is expensive kit to buy piecemeal (not to mention mismatched and who knows what). That has a solid amount of work holding fixtures. It has a center fixture for reamers (and more), a lathe bit fixture, a nice radius dresser, a ton of wheels and arbors, collet spindexer, power workhead, air bearing with extras, and a nice universal. Not to mention the HEPA filter, that's thousands right there, and a cabinet to boot? Yep, if the price was right, I'd get on a plane and rent a truck. That's a tip-top working setup there.

Thank you so much, John! Now I am hoping that the guy bidding against me isn't reading this... LOL

HONEY! Get the checkbook!

That's a nice grinder and there are a lot of expensive accessories in the photos including a power workhead which I have seen sold close to a grand at times.

Very nice setup. The only thing that’s no bueno is the fact the base cabinet is not included in the sale, WTH? Why would they do that?

I think the dust collector cabinet to the right in the auction photo is what is not included. The cabinet the grinder sits on is at least, that’s my impression.

Correction, ddickey is correct, it’s the tooling cabinet on the left that’s not included.

Yes, it is the two door cabinet that is not included. Why it isn't is a little of a head-scratcher. The Donaldson dust collection system is included however.
