I picked this up from ebay advertised as a mill vise. I did a search on the brand (Palmgren) marked on the vise an found it's sold as a drill press vice. Since I didn't have a drill press vise and I have plenty of mill vises I made an offer. Now that I have it in hand, it appears the Sherline must have sold this vise before they made their own mill vise. It's drilled and relieved for a SHC screw and T nut, and includes those and a hold down clamp.

looks like a very nice vise,, the acme thread should be much faster than the allen bolt.. I have the small unimat vise that is much the same, gets lots of use (tapping stand, bench mill, or just holding small parts)

Looks nice. I have a Craftsman vise that is very similar.

Palmgren vises are not much known for accuracy, fine for drill press work, maybe not so fine for milling.

Palmgren makes some of the best drill press vices, and for this class of machine it would be hard to beat.

The Enco and Unimat vises are comical in comparison for the prices people pay.
