Need HELP!!! With a Powermill Kondia G mill wiring??

So the question is does anyone have a wiring schematic for a nine pin Kondia G mill wiring diagram jumper for 440 V to 220 V So I can use a phase converter 220 V for my garage shop next question is what Wires are hooked up from my mail to the phase converter. Second question does anyone know the horsepower of this motor? There was no manual, purchased at a liquidation sale for $800 bucks how do even sure if it runs.if so will need advice to wire it up to the VFD for 120v use at home… And can someone also tell me what they think the horsepower of this motor might be I see nothing listing horsepower? Thank you once again.

Did you happen to look inside of the box cover for a connection diagram? Sometimes that gets over looked.

Hi Jimmy,

A couple things......

1) I have been poking around for some info to help you. I was hoping to find a free manual somewhere, but have not found much.
This appears to be one source:
https://ozarktoolmanuals.com/machinemanual/kondia-powermill-model-g-milling-machine-oppart-manual/
$35 really isn't too bad.

2) Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it? There are folks here that could probably walk you thru the tests required to determine which wires are what.

3) I found one other reference to that machine here:
https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/powermill-kondia-bridge-port-clone.80035/
Perhaps you could try contacting that user to see if they could help you.
Either reply to that thread asking for their help or PM (private message) them by hovering over their username and selecting "Start conversation".
It's worth a shot!

It looks like your motor is connected for low voltage wye already.
I found the following procedure on another site- It's very thorough if you need to start from absolute scratch
and your motor wires are not numbered. The only change I would make is to use a source of low voltage ac (<24v) to find the midpoints of the windings rather than a battery; save the battery for polarity "flashing"- it will last much longer
Also, youtube has several videos on this subject

....and here's a couple more threads about the same machine with users that just might have a manual:

https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/newbie-from-oregon.90002/

https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/clausing-kondia-model-g-hobby-partial-restoration.90327/

...and that last one has pictures of the wiring of a Clausing Kondia FV-1 that is supposed to be identical.

Good Luck and let us know how it works out.
Be careful (only poke around with it unplugged) and let us know how it goes!

Hi Jimmy,

A couple things......

1) this section of the website is meant for tickets dealing with website issues, accounts, passwords, etc.
But no real worries, when a moderator find this it will probably be moved into an appropriate area.
I only mention it so you're not surprised if it gets moved....no one here is a stickler, there are no demerit points, and there is no flaming permitted.

The shop it was at had it connected to 440v at least that’s what the court said coming from the ceiling dropping down to the mill was marked as 440 V…

Thank you I purchase the manuals On eBay but there’s no schematic about the 440 V to the 240 V for hooking up the machine headstock…
