Help wiring a reversing Atlas motor

Mark, that is the switch. So it doesn't matter which single and which double wires go to the neutral line wire? I probably won't get to it today but will try and wire it up tomorrow. Thanks so much for your help.

If you mean which of the two wirenutted pairs connects to the neutral, no, it doesn't. Just pick one of them. The reason I put single was to indicate that you don't need to run six individual wires to the switch. Just four conductors total, from motor to switch (plus ground, not shown)

The wire gauges are not absolute- you could probably get by with 16 ga instead of 14 ga for example, for short runs 6 feet or less
You may need to swap the single wires to the switch 4 and 8 if the motor rotation is opposite the switch handle position

There may be more than one version of this switch so if it doesn't work we'll have to ring out the switch with a ohmmeter or continuity tester
I don't know how reliable these switches are- but for the price you can replace them more often
The really good USA made ones like Dayton are upwards of 100$ or more

Mark, I finally got everything connected per your sketch and all I got was for the motor to hum, fwd or reverse. While I was hooking it up, the little metal "door" to the connection box was in my way so I took it off and when I turned it over, there was the wiring instructions ( attached). I also noted that several of the contacts on the drum switch were jumpered to other contacts ( 2 pics attached) I am going to direct wire it today to verify the motor works in one direction. (I am sure it will) Any thoughts on how to proceed?
Ed

There's a miswire you want 7,8 not 9,10 - compare again with post #10. Leave the jumper straps on the switch as it came.
Good info on the cover-- not that the colors are all that visible now-
I edited the sketch with the wire colors anyway

Mark, you were correct. I wired it to the contact numbers on the switch which it turns out skipped the center. Rewired it today and everything works fine. I really appreciate your help.
