Gage pins

I wouldn't be without them, though mine only go from a few thou to 1/2" (3 sets). At that point I can mic the holes pretty well.

GsT

My thinking also; I can cover 0.200” - 2.000” with inside mics and (thanks to @twhite last year) 0.8000” - 2.0000” with 3-point digital bore gauges: not as convenient as pins, but already have them (and can use the pin storage space for something else!).

Gauge pins become handier and more valuable the longer you have them. In addition to their versatility, nothing beats a primary standard.

Can the cabinet be bought by itself?
Shars did offer the cabinet by itself. Not sure if they still do now. May have to search their website and see or contact them directly.

That price is probably decent considering you are getting basically all 10 sets of gage pins and a cabinet. The larger gage pin sets start to get up there in price compared to the little ones.
