A friend of mine bought a Frontier 31” sawmill a couple years ago. The base price was around $3,000.00, but by the time he added all the accessories to make it portable, lift logs, lube the blade, and collect the sawdust he had close to $14,000.00 in it
It does a decent job but goes through blades fairly quickly. Blades aren’t that expensive at about $35.00 a crack.
The only downside is he also had to buy a $60,000.00 New Holland tractor with a loader and thumb to move and load the logs.
To my way of thinking he could have bought all the lumber he would ever need for the money he spent on the equipment.
He doesn’t own a wood lot so he has to ask for trees that have been cut down along the roads by the county. It’s quite a mixture of everything from soup to nuts.

I have to start moving the daughter out to her new place this weekend hence the enclosed trailer . There is a guy 5 miles away with a brand new 20 footer that I'm looking at now . I would love to have the extra 4 foot but I'm kinda in a bind for time .
