14 ft. oak beams, just put a couple of them in a flat rate box with the motor and send it along to me

I'm seriously leaning towards the Hallmark, would like to keep my belt grinder under $500 if possible.

Just a little over my budget....

When I was in need I used Northern Hydraulic for Lesson motors. It is absolutely incredible how prices have gone up. Needed a box of 100 # 8 self tapping screws and paid with tax almost $13.00.

Try looking for motors in these sites:

Thanks for the heads up with this dealer. The prices are great, and I'm under an hour from them. Thanks again, Charlie.

US Motors may have something in your price range. Here's a link to one available from Global Industrial.

US Motors is now owned by Nidec out of Japan. They have several production facilities throughout southeast Asia, so I'm not sure exactly where they're built.

I bought my (import) mill, in part, because it had a USA motor: Leeson. Guess which one part of my mill I've had to replace? To be fair my Ellis tools (saw, drill, grinder) all use Leeson motors and they've been fine.

Hard to believe a Baldor would cost you $800 - have you called them? Their support is second to none. When the Leeson on my mill died I gave them a call, got excellent help in finding a drop-in replacement and they pointed me to a local supplier that had one on hand (the don't / didn't sell direct). The most you can lose is 10 minutes on the phone... That was quite a few years ago, and things change, but that motor cost me much less than I thought it would and is still doing great today.
