Drill Press motor trips breaker - help troubleshooting needed

Stop!

If it was running fine when you got it, there are 2 options.

You broke something moving it.

It was wired oddball.

So, start with the wiring, we are USA but will ASSUME you have LINE HOT and LINE RETURN with a SAFETY GROUND.

Get your ohm meter and check the wiring, open up the cover of where the power cord goes and check each wire

Safety ground connects the frame, line connects to power switch.

Make sure the plug is wired correctly.

Check for loose wires and other things that may have come loose when you moved it.

Since this is not a typical European double-insulated appliance, you must observe polarity or you will get an immediate ground fault. Reverse your mains (blue and brown) and try again. One of your main leads is bonded to earth in your panel, that is the same main that must be bonded to earth in your machine.
