Duh! WDM...
Being retired USAF, I should have known that! I was on active Duty during the first Gulf conflict.

Thanks for posting the picture of the swing grinder attachment. Now I know what you are talking about. I actually have one just like yours. Bought it at a garage sale new in the box and unused for five bucks. It works pretty well, but like you I need to get it set up on a grinder so I can use the side of the wheel or on a belt grinder. I am leaning toward the belt grinder and fabricating a base that clamps onto the table registering in the miter guage slot. Low on my priority list at the moment as I am in the middle of remodeling one of the bathrooms in the home. Wifey gets a little testy when I am in the shop with so much yet to do to complete the bathroom.

When I do have time to get into the shop, I am working on restoring a Boice Crane 12 inch bandsaw I picked off Craig's list for fifty bucks. It came without the optional blade guards so I am fabricating some out of 1/8" sheet aluminum. Once all the pieces are made, I will TIG weld it together. Pictures will be posted once completed.

Thanks,

Pat

Ok back to my sharpener. I ordered some 8" x 1" thick alum plate off ebay to make my backing disc from. I also ordered some 8" 100 grit self stick sandpaper sheets as well as some 7/8" round stock for my fixture. So after a few days of waiting i can get started making some parts. Meanwhile i removed the grinding wheel from my new 8" grinder i bought a few weeks ago and tested the runout with my dial indicator and i was happy as it was about nill. My 6" grinder as about .025 and i wondered why it shook so bad. I can't wait to turn the alum disc and get this thing running. I am going to start making the fixture bottom while i am waiting for the parts...Bob
