My grandson in Idaho has a Dodge 4x4 pickup that has the front outer bearing races machined into the hubs, and bearings are starting to make noise. It seems like I recall someone hear had the same problem so he machined the worn hubs to receive bearings. Their was quite a bit of discussion about what bearing to use for replacement. I would really like to review those posts and perhaps discuss the project with parties involved. All help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Have a good day

I have a 2016 ram 1500 2WD which uses the same hubs as 4WD and I cut one of the front hubs open on the lathe to see why it failed at 30 thousand miles. The whole inner part of the hub was very hard and made very hot orange chips the whole time I was cutting it.

I would just look for some aftermarket hubs or buy a better brand than Mopar. I bought some Moog hubs from Rock Auto.com , I was not willing to pay double for Timkin but that was an option.
