Hello all,

I just bought a new to me Cincinnati Cinova 80 205-12 Horizontal Milling Machine (Mid 70's machine, I believe) which is in like new condition, along with it came about 250 pounds, yes 250 POUNDS worth of tooling, about 25 different CAT 50 tool holders, boxes and boxes of milling cutters every size imaginable, arbors and hold down clamps and in on of the shelves were 4 what looks to be some type of clamp??? The markings say Carroll & Shipley, Anderson Indiana. On the back side says C-S 100.. Both ends of these swivel and there are no holes in the ends.

I've googled Carroll & Shipley but nothing comes up under that name.

I'm not even sure if these are any type of machine tool or they just ended up in this tool cabinet!

If anyone has a clue to what these are I'd love to know!

They are clamps... there should be 4 round pieces that fit in the scallops with bolt holes through them... I have one somewhere, but I'd have to dig to find it.

Ok, I think I understand how it works! I'll dig around and try and find the drilled rod pieces, if not there doesn't look too hard to make a few. Thank you!

I'm imagining they are strap clamps. To right side sits on, and swivels to be flat on, the table.
The semicircular cuts are to position a short rod with a cross drilled hole (to pass a hold down stud/nut).
The three semicircular locations allow the clamp high/low reach and leverage options.

I don't understand the feature, on the left end, that looks like a roller chain link.
I'd like to see more pictures of that end from various angles and with the swivel action at both extremes.

@682bear is quicker than me.

The left end is also a swivel foot, bottom pin is the swivel point for the foot and the top pin is there to strengthen the end, nothing swivels on the top pin.

After looking at them a little closer there is a patent stamp, but can't read the numbers, tomorrow I'm going to put them in the electrolysis tank to clean them up, I should be able to read it then, patent number search should give me a drawing
