Bushing for 5913 Apron

So were you able to make the bushing on the lathe that you were fixing, and how did that work out?
I have a 59xx Clausing with a wobbly hand wheel too...

I have 2 lathes. I made the bushing on my Clausing model 100. This is for my 5913. I have not finished it yet. I will press the bushing into the apron and do the final boring on my Bridgeport clone mill. This is necessary to make the gear teeth inside the apron mesh properly. Its not a one size fits all job. I must first bore the I/D of the apron casting to make it round then finish turning the o/d of the bushing for a press fit . The final bore of the bushing will be with it pressed into the casting. many people will do this repair with a simple JB Weld build up, but it would keep me up at night knowing I had done the Redneck repair. I've been working on the restoration for 3 years now. A few more days is worth the wait. I'm surely not above doing Redneckish stuff but on these old beauties I try to take my time and keep them as pure as I can.
