Boyds gunstocks

For Laminates, Boyd's is a household name. They sell a gazillion of them.
Another possible source- Richards Microfit- http://rifle-stocks.com/
I plan on using one of theirs for my Mauser project

Since I don't know if you've used a Richards Microfit stock before, there is a caution. They say their stocks are 90% inletted. All the ones I've seen or worked with, have a very small groove partly to the forend for the barrel channel that will require a lot of opening up. The action inletting isn't too bad, but will also require a bit of work as well. Then you must be sure the screw holes are on center line with the barrel channel. All the wood tends to be "proud" which gives the finisher plenty of wood to work with and remove.

Boyd's are usually drop in, but may require opening the barrel channel for larger contours. Many of Boyd's are pre-finished, which may simplify the process for some shooters.
