We have a very clean 2 piece bathroom in the shop too. Heck,it stays cleaner than most house baths. Don't need too many details but this sink is a catchall for all things nasty. Got it from a plumber friend 30 or so years ago. He was a fixture(ha) within the local city's plumbing community. When their plumbing store, "hangout" needed a better place for their customers to wash hands, this early 1930's,small mop sink, had to go and he was the guy to do it.

When I think of the generations of craftsmen who used this sink......well it was a no brainer on his offer to repurpose it in our shop.

The plans are on post 14.
We don't have a maker yet for the fixed jaw.

....and here's the direct link :)

C'mon guys you have the chance to work with both Peyton and Braeden.
These guys may be young but they embody the very ethos we need to instill.
I suspect they will be up to great things and may end up the longest serving members of this forum!
Absolutely no sarcasm here, these guys were raised right and know how to do stuff.

Okay, here's a challenge!
If we reach say 20 responses to this post (likes, hates, whatever....) I will step up and build the parts.
I will even foot the cost of shipping both ways!

Let's go!

made a test QCTP block for my FIMS #2 tool post so I can work out the various dimensions. 1st attempt was tight on the dovetail but loose on the post body, as the tool post dovetail pulls the tool holder tight against the tool post. 2nd attempt was the winner. Now I can make a whole bunch of these out of some 1.5" thick steel I got from the scrapyard.

Quality time today, making a 20g metal form for a carbon fibre cheek piece for a rifle. Not new to CF,use it right much on bows and guns. New to this style form though. Pics should show the logic.

Learned some interesting things. One is the rectangle box thing. I have a dang nice collection of body hammers and dollys. But on this particular part, and any gauge metal, shaping job.....

Having an enclosed box dolly, can really open up some options on shaping. Tough to describe. It's like a cage, where you can use the inside corners to hold the part whilst shaping other sections. If you've ever seen a motorcycle chassis straightener, that's the idea. So that was interesting.

Oh yeah,the other was;

When making a two sided form, where they're basically two pieces of EXACTLY the same profile. If you keep alternating the inner vs the outer..... eventually, they become the same. Again, tough to put into words. But it really speeds up the process.

Pics should show some data left out. The heat is a yard sale Presto, electric griddle. Indispensable in the shop. I use it for so many things, from pre,and post heating painted parts.... to heating cast iron pieces, and actually Tig brazing/welding them, right on the griddle.

Here,it's being used to cure the epoxy.
