2021 POTD Thread Archive

Finished up a couple of jobs recently.

This is one of two exhaust mounts for a custom motorcycle. The sleeve was turned on the lathe and the tab
silver brazed to it. The rubber buffer and inner sleeve are Honda parts.

This banjo bolt is a fuel tank vent fitting made for the same bike. The tube was brazed into the sleeve with another
Muggy Weld product called Super Alloy 5 Aluminum Brazing Rod.

Unlike most Australian creatures this one is not poisonous to humans.
Its called a St Andrews cross spider on account of the large white cross it places in the web, This one is lazy and has only made one line.
Naw, he just came back from the pub after having one to many beeahs...

Finally finished up the sheet rock finishing, primer and two coats of semi-gloss white in the main area of the shop. Two more bays to go. Mike

I hear ya. Wish it wasn't me, but I couldn't find anyone else stupid enough to do it. Cheers, Mike

Hard work never hurt anyone, at the end you'll appreciate it more. We have an old saying "your own hand scratches your back the best", it's looking great, i admire people who can do drywall and plaster, i hate doing it and i've never been good at it, also at heights, keep up the good work.

Looks awesome Mike. :cheer:
I used to do my own drywall but not anymore. At age 55 I no longer have the strength or stamina to do it. I have congenital narrowing of my spinal canal in my neck, so can't really look up anymore. Let me say that doing a drywall ceiling would be ... a pain in the neck. LOL
