Excellent !! However, given the scope of beautiful tools you have, one would have thought you'd have taken the time to joint the tablesaw burn mark(s) off the edge of the Cherry.
That's a good point, Capt45. I have to understand why this is happening. Any tips? I've dial indicated the saw blade plane against the fence, it's right on. And it's the Freud glue line blade, cuts beautifully otherwise. Can't understand when/why this happens, it does not seem to correlate with motion of the workpiece through the blade.

Considering it is in one place along the whole board, did you pause for a second right there and let the heat build up? I think it looks fabulous, even with the burn.

I swear that I did not pause. If I did it was only for the briefest time, and I don't think short of an automatic feed that I could do better. That's what's got me puzzled.

But I looked at the picture again...what else could it be. I must have paused there just long enough.

Align the trunion/blade perfectly with the table slots and adjust the fence with a few thou extra at the back of the blade. I have quite a few blades that I had the saw shop blast the coating off to reduce the rubbing, Cherry especially.
Cherry is very susceptible to scorching even with a stock feeder.

Good advice, Firstram, thank you. I will check everything again. I like the intentional extra clearance, I'll try that.

Years ago I did a massive Cherry trim job on a 4000ft² house. Opening up the fence and stripping the blades cured the scorching, and that was with a stock feeder.

At the time I had a huge stack of blades, it was easier to buy more than make a trip to the saw shop. When I finally had the time I dropped off 5 Freud Glue Line rip blades and 10 or 12 miter saw blades. When I put the freshly sharpened rip blades back into rotation they rubbed so bad I could have used them to start a fire in the rain! Looking closely they had set up the CNC machine wrong and wiped the teeth off of one side of all 5 rip blades.

I phoned them up and requested they not sharpen the blades I had just dropped off! I dropped off the ruined blades and retrieved my dull ones until the situation was resolved. They re-toothed all 5 and proceeded to do the same thing again to all 5 refurbished blades! They went out of business not much later.

My brother gave me two items for my shop
he is nearly blind and has a magnifying reader. He was ha problems with and got a new on.
Also he gave me a A/C to DC converter max 45 amp dc
now I have to find a home for them

Another specialty wrench, this time for my water filter. Have broken a few of the plastic ones over the years. I never over tighten them and always lube the o-rings when they go back on, but the last filter change I actually broke the 1" pvc fitting going into the filter getting the damn thing off. Had some steel pipe the right dia., so I cut a chunk off and made one out of steel. Quick and dirty, but works a treat. Pretty sure this one will hold up. Mike

Got this shelf in last night and today I got my old grinder in place.

Only regret is I shoulda put the shelf one notch higher. It’s a little short for working in the grinder and hurts my back being bent over but I’ll have to see how it goes. Plan is to replace that grinder eventually anyways.

Why is it that it always comes out 'One Notch' off? Be it peg board or heavy duty shelving?
Murphy can't be everywhere all the time - can he? :cool 2:
