Stuart Beam Engine

I am truly looking forward to being able to travel again. Both for work and pleasure. While working in Lenzing and Linz I was able to have my wife come over and we went to Vienna, Salzburg, Mondsee and Innsbruck. You are fortunate to live in a very beautiful part of the world. Makes an outsider like me understand why your greeting is "Gruss Gott". My wife really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Goldener Hirsch and going to the Haus fur Mozart to hear the orchestra. I even passed through "F*cking" Austria near Suben.

So you visited a lot of nice spots in austria.
By the way F.. is now "Fugging" see HERE.

Been working on the crank and big end. However, I did a bad job of documenting my work. So these pictures show the results 49E9E7DA-737A-45A9-A64F-A66E48B06BD5.jpegThe crank was fairly simple. Mill the surfaces to the proper thickness and drill/ream the holes. Pretty straightforward.
8CEA5865-29BE-4D1B-B21F-0673CD5D7405.jpegBig end was a bit more difficult. Mill to thickness, drill and tap the two holes and bore the diameter. Had to make a form tool to make the groove to accept the valve cam.962010A3-3C74-4675-B051-991744537E61.jpeg
The connecting rod for the valve was pretty straight forward. Turned an insert for so I could locate the center and then used the DRO to locate the connection for the valve gear. Had to heat and bend the outer arm and then drill to match.

Next up need to shape the arm that connects the beam to crank. I’ve already milled the slot and drilled the connecting holes, but didn’t photograph any of it. Will need to hold in the four jaw and indicate it and then shape the taper. Should be interesting.
