How To Remove Oil From Oilite Bronze Bushing Material?

Don't know if this would work but I used to remove the oil from oil soaked dirt bike brake pads (from leaking fork seals) by heating them with a torch so that the oil would ignite. Keep the flame on them until the oil quit burning. (probably shouldn't do this in your kitchen :grin big:)
 
heat removes the oil I don't know if it gets it all though. try it bill
 
I'd just leave them in boiling water for an hour. The oil will float to the top of the water if it's only boiling moderately. Let the water cool to just warm and carefully absorb the oil on top w/ paper towels as much as you can, then tilt the pan and skim off any remaining oil. That being said, I don't believe that you can ever get all the oil out of oilite.
