LOL, I think my sliding scale is calibrated the same. The cheaper it is but functional fudges the overall score higher.

the tool rest on your disk sander looks exactly like the one I picked up and then installed on mine.

I have one of those. A craftsman unit.
I like it.. I changed the rest, I converted it to wood, then when I got the Dunlap up and running and realized I use the 1" for metal way more than wood, I put the steel plate back on, but cut off the right side so I can pop belts on without pulling the rest off. I change belts frequently.
