Would this bandsaw cut steel?

Actually looks very nice. Put some time into it and I think you will have a great machine!

Ok, so got her home, and took a bunch of new pics. Figured it best to document it before I start stripping her down for initial clean up.

1/3 HP doesn't sound like much.
Yeah, I'm really not sure what a good size motor for a metal bandsaw would be. I figured I'd end up having to swap the motor anyways, but hey if this one runs, it'll be worth the $25 I paid for the whole machine, and I will make a belt sander or grinder or something with this motor.

My horizontal 7 X 14 has a 1/3 HP motor on it. It just cut through a 6 3/4 " round billet of steel. I'd say that is good enough... -- if it uses a good speed reducer, 1/3 is plenty. If you use a VFD, 1 1/2 HP isn't quite enough...

If you need the rubber for the wheels, there is a guy on Ebay, that sells urethane ones, and can make them to the size you need. If you need the info, I can look up his listings. I have bought 4 sets from him, for some band saws I fixed up, and are happy with them.

Over on Vintage machinery, they have the artwork for the Boice crane decals, if you want to go that route.

Thanks superburban, yeah if can locate his info, I'd love to have it. I already found the BC decals on VM, but I appreciate the info none the less!
