Why I Don't Pay Much Attention to 1 & 2 Star Reviews

The fact that there are ignorant people writing reviews on Amazon shouldn't be a problem in any way. I thought it was common knowledge.
That author may not even be a reader of H-M or member. If the person was an H-M member, and had more than a few message count, I could understand the reaction. Regardless, we should have compassion and try to help (I must be in a good mood).

For the uninformed, it occurs to me that I didn't notice yourself, or anyone else, define why the review is so inappropriate. The reason is that T-nuts are available in 2 styles. My preferred style is the style that are tapped through. I'm clever enough that I don't worry about needing the T-nut to prevent me from causing unintended damage. The other T-nut style is not tapped completely through so the mating fastener can not, without serious force, extend beyond the bottom of the T-nut, potentially causing damage to what ever the T-slot is in.

I tend to gravitate to the low rating reviews and am not interested in the higher ratings on Amazon and the like. My rationale is that, IMO, the high ratings are certainly no more valid, actually less valuable, than the low ratings. I read the ratings to determine what the potential bad news is, not to have some, unknown to me, Bozo blow smoke up my chimney. Obviously ignorant reviews, like the one you posted or "It didn't fit", are easily disregarded.

YMMV
I will pay attention to 1 & 2 Star if the percentages are high, but typically look at the 3 Star: someone who is OK with the item, but also had issues.

I've also seen 1 Star reviews that just say "Great item."

Te-Co sure likes their mediocre product.

I like the 5 star ones that start off "I haven't tried these yet, but Ill review them further...."

LOL . . . and a little OT.
I just thought of an analogy that describes what I think of T-nuts that are not tapped through. IMO, they are equivalent to having a device on a drill press that would preclude a drill point from ever drilling into the table surface. Maybe something like the SawStop device for table saws.
With such a device there would be no new "arc of shame" created, regardless of operator competence.

Not for me, thank you.

Sounds to me like you've just come up with something worth a patent!

I just looked at the Amazon item that you linked. What bothers me most is that I couldn't find any mention in the listing of "partially threaded".
Through threaded is not a crazy assumption to make, but style should be specified regardless. I also saw no mention of heat treatment (just 1018).
What should one expect for @2.50 each? Buyer beware.
Inadequate descriptive information is a much bigger issue to me. Often I have to search way too hard to find a descriptor that is fundamental to the product application and it should have been right up front in bold print. Sometimes I find the information, but in at least 50% of the instances, the info is not stated. Take my chances or move along?

Last time I purchase T-Nuts I got them off of ebay for about 1/2 the cost of what I could find on Amazon or McMaster. They were fine: 1/2"-13 T-Slots Nut Table Slot 9/16"

As far as 1 & 2 star reviews. Some are ok and some are nonsense. I would much rather have a good rating where there is lots of detail as to why a good rating is given.

However, just wait until the AI versions start popping up in mass. The first answer on most of googles searches are now AI created and many times are full of nonsense or trivia! Usually useless!

Could have sworn it said partially threaded when I looked earlier (can’t find it now), but I may have assumed such since I had searched for “3/8-16 partially threaded t-soot nuts for 7/16 slots,” but what you search for and what you get can be wildly different.

For the price difference I’ve decided to go with Dave (if he ever comes out of the basement) or the (probably) TE-CO on McM.
