Why I Don't Pay Much Attention to 1 & 2 Star Reviews

Hey Chazz . You'll have to tell me to look for something else and I'm sure those slot blocks will show up . I've moved so much stuff over the past 2 months they could be anywhere ! On a good note , I found all my missing R8 tooling buried in one of the big Vidmars , I couldn't figure out where they went . :encourage: I'll check down the basement tonight and see if I can come up with them .
Oh, no: my luck I’ll ask for something I don’t need and you’ll find s_ _t load of them (and not the T-Slot Nuts!!) and expect me to buy all the stuff you did find. I know how things work.

I know I have them and didn't throw them out as they were still bagged up . I may have moved them downstairs for whatever reason . I just load buckets up , haul them down the basement and sort good from bad . I think I have close to a ton ready for the scrapper as of this point . ( I cant bury a 250 lb cast iron tub with the ground frozen ) :p I'll run all stainless up to the fever next month .

I miss the days when you could reply to reviews on Amazon and gently mock people for their ignorance and, more often than not, plain stupidity.

I wonder why Amazon got rid of it...

Matt and Farriel have been very busy . It'a BOY ! :dancing banana:
Congratulations to them!

I’ll turn off the pickup; may reach out again after the Fever.

I would be happy if they just added the “not helpful” button back.

But it would be nice if they had a pull-down response tab (this person is an: idiot/ass/wacko/other - fill in the box).

I actually find the 1 and 2 star reviews more helpful. The glowing 4 and 5 star reviews tell me very little about what I am interested in. OTOH, the disparaging reviews will often point up shortcomings in the products. I am also fairly certain that they weren't written by the vendor or a shill.

The fact that there are ignorant people writing reviews on Amazon shouldn't be a problem in any way. I thought it was common knowledge.
That author may not even be a reader of H-M or member. If the person was an H-M member, and had more than a few message count, I could understand the reaction. Regardless, we should have compassion and try to help (I must be in a good mood).

For the uninformed, it occurs to me that I didn't notice yourself, or anyone else, define why the review is so inappropriate. The reason is that T-nuts are available in 2 styles. My preferred style is the style that are tapped through. I'm clever enough that I don't worry about needing the T-nut to prevent me from causing unintended damage. The other T-nut style is not tapped completely through so the mating fastener can not, without serious force, extend beyond the bottom of the T-nut, potentially causing damage to what ever the T-slot is in.

I tend to gravitate to the low rating reviews and am not interested in the higher ratings on Amazon and the like. My rationale is that, IMO, the high ratings are certainly no more valid, actually less valuable, than the low ratings. I read the ratings to determine what the potential bad news is, not to have some, unknown to me, Bozo blow smoke up my chimney. Obviously ignorant reviews, like the one you posted or "It didn't fit", are easily disregarded.

YMMV

I made a major assumption that the readers here would understand why the holes were not through-tapped; my appologies to @extropic for not using the post as a teaching moment, my bad.
Also, I thought you were able to report A-zon reviews?
Yes, there is a "report" button, but I've only used this once for what was a blatantly false review, not to call out someone for giving a product a bad review because they didn't read the listing, or the package arrived late, or they ordered the wrong color and waited two months before trying to return.
Chazz, throw up a link to these?

The ones with the two, 2 Star reviews I posted (cheaper set):

The 7/16" TE-CO's are $26+:

And the 9/16" TE-CO's (& 1/2") are $16:

And the ones I'm looking at:

EDITs: Added links to Amazon & McMaster items. Didn't embed the links as I've gotten used to not doing so on my iPhone (via Safari) since the "links" button doesn't work for some reason.
