What would you do?

springs can get nasty in storage. The compression type seem to interlock each other. The extension can hook into the barrel of another.
There's gotta be a better way to store them and not go crazy trying to get them apart.
Mine are not under any pressure in the drawers or organizers so I haven't had any major issues.

What do you do when wandering at the flea market and you find a guy selling a whole mess of USA made number drill bits for a buck each but he offers them all to you for $20?

This....

Nearly two complete sets. Took an hour to cut each package, roll them in Starret M1 oil, put them away, and update my inventory.

I encountered an old fella (in Rotterdam, at a flea market) with a spread of new 'gold' plated drill bits. I got the first 8, 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 2, 3, etc., for 80 cents apiece. Also found a small, very heavy vice. Front jaw fixed, back moving, dovetail action, 60 mm (2 1/4") opening , silky smoothe action, no shake whatever, ten Euros (about $11.50). The modern version, made in Germany may be had for over 200 Euros.
