What Did You Buy Today?

I actually picked these up a little while ago, and totally forgot to post pics here:


Starrett height gauge and a Brown and Sharpe bevel. Found the Starrett at the local flea market, while the B&S was at a nearby junk shop. Pretty happy to find the height gauge as I had been keeping an eye out for one, not sure what I will do with the bevel but the price was so good I wasn't going to pass it up.

One question, though... I've been on the internet trying to find out whether this vise was USA made, or offshore. There are no markings on the vise that I can see, and I haven't found anything on the web... does anyone know?

I was going to make one of these. I couldn’t buy the steel for what I paid for it.
It’s rock solid too.
I assumed it was shop made? It has a “India” stamp.
Short for Indiana?

The stork brought me a keyway broach set today. 1/8 to 3/8 broaches and 1/2 to 1 1/2 bushings. Haven't used it yet but looks pretty nice in it's wood case.

Been wanting a good height gauge for a long time, and finally bit the bullet.

Needs cleanup, but what a joy to have near the surface plate.

That is why the common nickname is "Chinese Wonder Vise."
