I've resorted to beating on the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket in front of Harbor Freight...... LMAO

I made a deal for a 8" jointer today (I do machining and wood butchery). I have a 6", but I can sell it for more than I paid for the 8".

We chatted, I checked it for square, made some test cuts and then talked about loading it. I said I'd come back with a rental trailer and he offered his - after he goes to the dump and empties it. Small towns can be great places some times.

No photos, but it looks a lot like a pale blue/green jointer.

My first jointer was a new 6" Powermatic. I was never happy with it. I came by an 8" Powermatic out of a school that was equipped with a "safety head". Much better. You can stick a board into the head totally off the table and it won't kick back. Tables are parallel which the 6" wasn't no matter how I tried to shim it. Later I got a 16" Crescent for $100. Had it Blanchard ground, new bearings etc. Worst part was adjusting the tables. Each table has 4 wedge adjusting points. Talk about chasing your tail. I made a grinding fixture for it and it can be quite true. Still hand feeding 16" wide boards can be a challenge.
