So, I just decided to up my measuring game and bought a new Mitutoyo indicator. Knew it was time to upgrade the holder but was kinda looking for a used deal.

Just happened to be going over the hill to San Jose today for something else so I checked Craigslist there (normally don’t bother since it’s ~45 minutes drive).

Picked all this up for one crispy Benjamin.

Would have preferred red for $50 less but that’s what they had without driving an extra hour.

They are so nice for the money! I gave my 26" to a friend of mine and ended up buying a 14" for mill tooling storage, I should have gotten another 26. The shallow drawers are ideal for so many machine tool items and the big stuff can live on shelves anyway!

Supervisor told me they’re discontinuing this one so if you want another you should get it soon.

No doubt it’s because with these available there’s little incentive to step up to their Icon series.

I think they are screwing themselves by going icon only. The 26" fits downstairs, the large ones don't... I can't see spending an arm and a leg for the icon.

I sure hope the Supervisor is wrong about that. The U.S General line is so highly rated, getting rid of it makes no sense to me.

it's not just the supervisor, it's been widely reported, and in some stores no longer available. it was on clearance in most markets. Right now it's only the 26"
