What Did You Buy Today?

That's a beauty compared to some I see. You are on a buying spree!!!
This is what happens when I am working from home….

Father-in-law had surgery to remove a tumor and we have been taking care of him. This means no motorcycle riding, no trips or even going out for dinner….

Not complaining as I love the guy. They were not able to remove all the cancer but he does not care… he is my hero as he has the best attitude in front of all this… Yesterday we were able to have a glass of wine with him.

Also my wife’s sister arrived last night… so she will give my wife some support. Today they both left and went to the shopping mall together, lol. I stayed with my father-in-law making him espresso and just shooting the breeze…

Anyway, this means that I have more computer screen time than usual… so I have been searching the local ads for things I would like in the shop…

Side question, on the vise. What parts am I exactly missing??

That looks to be in pretty nice condition...

From what I'm seeing, just the back dust cap and one dowel pin that goes in the hole on the side toward the back. There are two of these pins, one on each side, to hold the rear casting and the acme nut to the main casting.

These pins are installed at the factory, then ground flush... sometimes they can be difficult to see.

If you take the moveable jaw out and turn it over, is there a date stamped on the long key on the bottom?

Thank you! Yes, pins are there…

Handle is bent…

Everything else just need a dip in Evaporust and a good clean…

Only missing the dust cap then… I see that some folks use an engine water jacket plug as a replacement… will see if the local Autozone has one in this size…

EDIT: Forgot the date… does not look to be that old… 1108

Very sorry to read that.

Yeah! Not complaining at all!! This is the guy that when I am working on something, he will add a bolt or a nut next to the parts I am working on, just to mess with me and laugh when I was trying to figure out where the darned left over hardware went…. He is also the one that would give me a simple solution to a problem when my approach is a very complex one…. Much love and respect for him.

Only issue I have is when he starts telling me stories of all the things he has done and I need to remind him that I am married to his daughter and I should not be hearing those :p:D, lol.

He has been living with us for the past 21 years.

He will be 83 in November. Right now, we are just enjoying every additional day we get with him.
