Vevor Folding Work Table

I also use it for a million other tasks although mostly out in the yard.
I hear that! One of the many weird things I’ve used mine for is for holding doors vertically while worked on the hinges etc. Nothing else I know of can do that. I’m always trying to do stuff solo and this stand is made for that. Also have a roller attached to a 2x4 piece for welding. Also have special wood heads for holding and servicing our tadpole trikes. That is also unique to these stands as I don’t know of a commercial stand for working on them. I also have a mark for setting height to match my horizontal bandsaw. There is no tripod stand I know of that has that tilting head with the vise and level bubble built in. They are now kinda pricey but first time I saw it in OSH I knew I’d finally found a good tripod and gave away my others and have two. I love how they also fold up to nothing are close to tip proof and are not floppy.

thats more than I paid for any of my garage sale units.

A $20 garage sale workmate without any broken plastic parts is a very rare find around here! I usually pay about $25 - $30 for a used WorkMate, $40 for exceptionally nice 445. $20.40 to replace the broken knobs and missing middle top piece is a heck of a good deal in my world.

This new 225-A for $49 seems like a heck of good deal! https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER...62XW/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=workmate&sr=8-9&th=1
I can't figure out what the catch is? I wonder what the "-A" in the model number signifies?

That is a 225. The 425's mounting arms are wider apart than the 225's. 425 has a 100lbs more capacity than the 225 (550 vs 450lbs).

I think the tops are different. Not sure if both tops are bamboo…

One weighs 40lbs (425) vs 28 lbs (225) so maybe the metal used is thinner on the 225…

This is the other one that I have…

All plastic, workbench top can be removed and folded. Most of the time I just use the two sawhorses… but today I needed the workbench top and its integrated vise.

Great for small projects…and plastic, so if I forget to put it away and it rains, no big deal…

Well, after a little more research I am starting to really like the Worx Pegasus worktable. I think it has good promise.

Thoughts? Anyone own one?

What did you end up going with.

I've been contemplating something in this genre ever since you started the thread. I've comedown to the Workmate 425 or the Worx Pegasus which I've seen some good reviews of.

I figure if a guy calling himself Workmate Guy is very positive about the Worx in a head to head with the WM425 it is worth looking at.

I haven't fully decided but I'm leaning towards the Workmate. The Worx seems like a nice portable table but the Workmate seems to have a bit more utility overall. I also like the wood and metal vs mostly plastic, and the Worx is about $20 more expensive.

While I haven't committed I did add a WM425 to my Amazon wish list. My wife frequently uses my wish list at gift time so she may make the decision for me on Fathers Day. :)

I have 3 workmates. My wife gave me a 200 about 32 years ago. I found a good 400 at a yard sale for about $5 about 20 years ago (along with a 59 piece Craftsman Kromedge tap and die set from the 1970s). The third is a 225 I gave to my dad about 10 years ago that was returned to me after he passed. I use all of them. I've owned some of those plastic saw horse types but they're just not as usefull to me.

Thanks for reminding me to close out my buying process. I bought the Worx Pegasus table. All in all, I like it. The only complaint I have is the clamps don't extend to the full width of the table and are on the cheap side of things. For being plastic, it is actually very heavy duty and is quite heavy. I also like the clamping versatility with the pegs. I bought it on Ebay with the $20 off coupon and free shipping. Good luck with your decision.

Thank for posting that. It was overall a very balanced and informative review. And it was surprising how good the WORX was. I love when somebody who does use these demos all the different things they can do because I’m not a wood guy. Makes me want to upgrade the top on mine. I have a huge piece of UHMW that would be of better use on it but it would jump the weight up a bit.

Thanks, from the videos I've seen the Worx seems like a better portable table, if you mostly want it as a table. The Workmate seems to offer more clamping options.

I also noticed the clamps, and thought it unfortunate that they don't go the full width, although per the video they have the same clamping range.
