I can't see these parallel jaw pliers being used for crimping use, they have little mechanical advantage/leverage to accomplish that task.

My first thought would be some sort of crimper. For light welding cable or a battery cable. But I have made a number of similar devices for various applications, many of them specific to a particular job. Such as fiber optic work, my model building, and a few times I needed a specific crimper for electrical work when I didn't have the correct device. Just let your imagination run wild, it'll likely fit.
