Trepanning Job? Not sure

Jeff here is the size you wanted.
You can order by length in inches. 4 inches $36
When i went to the link it said your cart is empty.
When i searched for thick wall pipe within my spec range, it wasn’t offered.
Did I miss something?

This hunk of metal now has a hole in it.
I have the OD to size, tomorrow i’ll bore it out.

Thanks guys!

Probably not cost effective in this case, but I have bored up to 4" depth with annular cutters, I have assorted sizes up to 2" but they go bigger. The give very clean precise coring cuts, key is even steady pressure and lower speeds, a 3" would be in the range of 100-125 RPM. Down side is cost, in particular over 2". I usually center bore with an annular cutter when possible to remove the bulk of material and then bore out the rest. As others have noted, there is various heavy walled tubing, I have bought sections to make spiders.

The ID needs to be 3.750 with an OD of 4.250.
Thanks for looking. Hey, if you find a piece, you'll be my best of friends :)
Sorry Ill try again for next time you need some. You can order it by the inch if you need a short more affordable piece.

" depth with annular cutters
I don't own any but we had some at work. They are very impressive. Wicked sharp when new.
On the mag drill we used them to drill holes in truck frames to mount accessories. Clean and easy

I used to trepan hundreds of parts like that in production runs. But the set ups and tooling cost do not make sense for one piece. Plus you would need a very strong machine and flood coolant. I ran parts on turret lathes with special shop made cutters. I would stop trepanning just short of part breaking thru so slug would not break cutting tool. Then break slug apart using a hammer.

I dumped my chip pan today.
This job was a royal PITA.It came out good though.
I just need to finish the exterior, it feels better than it looks
Now I can move on to the next part.

Pretty much done.
Have you ever done anything stupid?
I was reading through the instructions and what should I find?
”””, The 4.25” OD head collar was made from a 3” threaded pipe coupling, simply boring out the internal threads to 3.75” will yield just the right sized material for the collar””.
You know, the one I spent half a morning boring out. !(note to self, read first)

This thing rocks! It’s very smooth and easy. My wife used it with a big smile on her pretty face :).
