Tool sharpening

Well, the staff at my store, and the sign on them does say Clearance @ $159.00. I asked the checkout girl if that meant they were being discontinued, and she said no, but probably meant the price was going up...

If the sign is still there tomorrow, I'll take a picture...

Chuck

She's right, it'll go back up to $189.

So, did you pick one up while you were there?

Thanks, 7HC. Thats the other one. I think there is still one more I've seen. I went back through the forums and found it once before. I have enough to go on if there is still one available.

I think I asked before about what is the best grit of white aluminum oxide for grinding HSS,as I intend to replace one or both of the green wheels. Any suggestions? Tony, what do you use for HHS? Or do you even use HHS?

Chuck

Not much, Chuck. I use a bench grinder with AO wheels, and/or a belt/disc sander. I use HSS on the shaper, but on the lathe, turning, boring, threading, parting....all carbide. Occasionally a large radius calls for grinding up something out of HSS, but not often. Mill of course uses lots of HSS end mills, but really mostly carbide there too.

I have a green wheel that I use if I want to grind a brazed carbide tool. Not too often though.
