Serriously, I used to do that on all my cover plates (I was an electrician for 45 years). It was one of the ways I could instantly identify if I'd worked on that switch/outlet box before. You might be surprised how many guys don't give a hoot about their work. Well...probably not surprised.

I've timed screws in a lot of places, but usually when I had control of one of the threads. How do you time the screws on an outlet cover?
