Don't forget CO, and nice flammable cardboard flooring. Looking at that setup in a kitchen made me cringe.Hot oil, open flame, what could go wrong?

As a veteran turkey fryer I can only imagine that did not go well. BTW, there is no CO produced from burning propane - at least until everything around the pot catches fire...
In a properly setup burner, there's little CO generated. Probably some though. I bet you could detect the CO with a pilot's CO detector. That's not a normal CO detector (which is dumbed down to avoid nuisance calls to the fire department), but a high sensitivity unit. A unit that measures and alarms in the 2 ppm level, rather than 75 ppm. It's amazing how much CO is put out by gas appliances if not adjusted correctly. My detector would alarm two rooms away when the oven was used. We called in a service person to fix it, as I didn't have the time to do it. It's a lot better now, but it still puts out detectable CO.BTW, there is no CO produced from burning propane
