South Bend 9" A gear box bushings Brass or bronze ?

Hello all Just wondering of the two bushings are brass or bronze I pressed mine out they look like brass any one know for sure.

More likely to be oilite bushings but I can be wrong!

Probably they are bronze which is a better bearing material for rotating parts
Oilite is a brand of bearing material made of tiny bronze pellets fused together- it holds oil like a sponge

They are (originally) bronze.

Brass makes a very poor bearing. Extremely likely that the bearings were originally made of bronze.
