Here's one on Craig's List a few miles from you. Import 14x40, asking $2950. He mentions in the ad that he also has a Rockwell lathe for sale for $1600 though no pictures are in the ad.

There is one photo of the Rockwell... Looks to be a 1970's Rockwell 10" lathe... I saw that ad... I was looking at it as well. But I know even less about Rockwell lathes... And as vain as it may sound... I like the looks of the old South Bend lathes over that one...

Maybe I should start a different thread... The question that I had was, on that Birmingham, since I was also considering that one. If I buy it, then no sense in waiting for the PM1236... I could cancel the order. But I do not know enough on the quality of that brand to make an educated decision...

That is a 3-1/2 hour drive (one way) just to see those two...
