I did have fun I hate to modify a brand new machine but as you can see the modification can be reversed that is how I do each mosification no new holes just use what is there.. Thanks Ray

Love you DRO battery eliminator. It was on my list of to-dos but didn't get there yet. It is kind of silly they don't have some sort of auto shut off after period of inactivity. For now I bought a pack of 50 batteries on eBay for cheap but will have to eventually do this mod.

My light I had to mount up against bottom of head/case because of spindle lock hole. I used 7w Cree leds and built a heat sink they are mounted into. I use 3.3v on different lights around shop so I have it bussed around from supply.
What did you use in your power drive. Just out of curiosity. I used B&D firestorm 18v drill. Kept clutch and gearing. I set clutch to certain setting incase it jams for some reason or I forgot to unlock the table. Didn't think it would workout but I was lucky and it does.

Power draw bar
I adapted a Kurt power drawbar for a Bridgeport to my RF-45 type mill. I got it at an auction for steel.

I had one of these mills years ago if it was not for the round column it really did a good job at milling I sold it before I had a chance to modify it I wanted to place a 1 1/2 to 2" chrome shaft next or close the the main column with some sort of brackets and then an additional slider that would connect to the head to guide it and keep it straight. This way I could crank the main head up and down without losing my place on the table I still think this could work and I wished I could have tried it before I sold it.. Ray
Does it count if you bought the mill from someone with all the work done to it? I bought a CNC'd Sieg X3 from a friend on CNCZone. It was his first mill, and he did everything I wanted to do to my own. It would have been nice if it was a RF-45, but the Sieg X3 will do.
Should I show the pics? The mill was CNC'd, has power draw bar, tool plate, mist cooling, and enclosure. I'm adding touch off plates for tool changes and tool management through MachStdMill (a Mach3 addon).
