Shipment damage

Take any three people and you'll find one who hates USPS, one who despises FedEx and the third will flat out refuse to ever use UPS. Nothing new here.

This item in that skinny box was poorly packaged.

Got after the seller, the shipper will tell you to FO.

If it wasn't packed correctly , it would be the sellers fault and a full refund would be in order . ( you would ship it back to him )

But, I'd like to keep the level. I wouldn't have paid quite as much without the box, but I'm happy with the level.

It was packed poorly, there was inches of free space in the end of the cardboard box, allowing the entire level and wood box to slide around. Even on the other faces, there wasn't enough packaging.

I see that it took 19 days to arrive , did you track it ? Where did it go ?

Ugh, that's a different issue. I'm not sure how it happened, but the seller blames eBay. They incorrectly, labeled it hazmat. USPS/eBay were supposed to relabel the shipment. Instead, it was never scanned anywhere and just showed up the day before I was going to file a lost shipping claim. So, the tracking is entirely blank. It was never even scanned in when they dropped it off at the post office.

I went thru an adventure last year with a $1285 set of dies that USPS absolutely destroyed the box and lost half of the dies and bowls . It was tracked and insured . It took 3 times , a full 4 months , full documentation , full before and after pics , multiple conversations before I as the seller was reimbursed . The post office kept the remaining contents of the box . A 2 day priority box took 24 days to arrive , stuck in a blizzard in Illinois .

Ouch, that's rough.

I don't ship anything over 100 bucks un-insured , and NEVER thru USPS . Pirate Ship is cheaper by far and are on top of complaints and refunds .

As far as the box , pretty easy fix . If the level is good , use it . Let the seller know about the packing issue off the record .
