That's the exact same 3 HP motor I have on my 13" Sheldon-Sebastian lathe. Still going strong for 60 years of use!
 
76kcfdcapt, did you ever get the gearbox off that Sebastian. I have the same lathe, serial #103973, and I'm looking to clean the gearbox.
 
Wonder if we could get a section/forum on here for Sebastian lathes? There are sheldons, Sheldon/Sebastians and Sebastians. They are all different.
