I find the noise less than my vertical band saw.

I thought these were REAL LOUD.I have seen good reviews of cold cut saws, the metal equivalent of wood chop saws.
One example from Northern Tools. Other brands also get good reviews. It seems the tungsten carbide blade is the key to the performance. Fast and clean cuts and little to no heat. Very tempting.
