RIP Jimmy Buffett

Was at a big party up north for two days at a friends with a bunch of other geezers, and geezerettes . The band played several of his songs in tribute. RIP Jimmy. Mike

My first season with Forest Service we had two cassette tapes, The Doors and Jimmy Buffet's Songs you know by heart.

Not a huge fan, but ever since then I've been a casual fan of his. Pencil Thin Moustache always amuses me.

RIP

76 years is pretty good for a musician/celebrity type, I don't think he abstained from the margaritas much even on stage. I wish I had his liver, I had to cut out the adult beverages years ago. Jimmy Buffett lived a full life, he had more adventures than most. License to Chill was the album I remembered the most since my Dad would put that one on repeat. One of the few albums he ever bought.

Buffett was an aviation inspiration for many, he started flying around 40 years old and really got hooked. Not too many celebrities start flying at 40 and actually pilot their own fleet and even get up to the type ratings he did. Jimmy actually flew his impressive Falcon biz jets left seat. The amount of training required is substantial, even a lowly "slow station" CE500 type rating is a major accomplishment for a private pilot. That 208 on floats was my dream plane, great for the Bahamas.
