Followup, to close this out: I did mount the new pulley, after making a tight fitting sleeve to make up the difference in diameter. Also had to mill a key with two different widths, because the keyway in the Grizz part is wider than the keyway in the motor. But those are tasks even this amateur can handle, and I nailed the dimensions to my exacting standards, aka "close enough".
Now my speed chart is all wrong, Oh no! I might make a new one, set the VFD to 60 Hz and write down the resulting spindle speeds in each position. Not that I ever really need to know the exact speed, and I have a tachometer for when I do, but having the speed chart does help a bit when swapping belts. Which I do still have to do sometimes, just less now with VFD.
Anyway, happy ending
