Restoring Jet 1024PY

Whew! took more time than i thought to return. Anyhow! I am unpacking my Jet 10x24 and have some ???’s. I recd tooling that i am having some difficulty id’ng. I have an old 1947 9” southbend mod A that i tried to refurnish, but everything was so expensive and time cinsuming just to fond the tooling that i gabe up amd snatched up this jet. i love it. i am 3rd owner. #2 was a machinist who was using it to make specific parts for a small factory on long island. That place as reaponsible for making the collet closer(pic), but the 4 jaw chuck got misplaced. I think i got an ok replacement. Got he 3 jaw/ both sets of jaws.. owner was using a collet holder for all of his work, but not the quick change-lever style(pic), and some other thingee looks like some kinda collet vise. My problem is not using US threadin much anymore, but i rec’d 2 addition gears. The manual i got from internet was pitiful. No clear pics, but i did buy a manual that one of the group recommended. Still no pic that i could verfy with description to swap so’s i could peel out some mm threads. Need id on other parts as owner is not available anymore. Now all i need to do is upload some pics. I rely on youse guys to direct me. Slow, but love this junk.

Only OK? I think they are great....cheers.

My baby Jet is my favorite, deessed up like a Christmas tree, green and red. It cuts dang near zero taper with super nice finish. Chambered over a couple of dozens of AR barrels through it.

Can you tell me what size cutting tools are on the lathe? I have a 1024P being shipped and will begin acquiring tools.

I believe this will be a fun project!
Take photos as you go. Take notes and link them to the photos.
I've taken things apart thinking that's simple enough. A month lather can't figure out if it was supposed to go in before or after!

Yes, absolutely. I have always rebuilt pumps, motors and engines either with drawings or photos. And yes I am sure its gonna be fun.

I have far less bolts left over since I started taking pix as it comes apart....

Used to have one of these. Fortunately mine still had all of the factory accessories including the metric change gears, steady and follow rests and both chucks. It was fully functional when I got it. They’re such a solid machine! There aren’t a lot of comparable machines out there of similar size.

Funny- when I first started seeing these in the 70s I thought "cheap junk"
Little did I know- should have bought several and stashed them
